‘Hanuman Ansh’ director urges dialogue

Kolkata: In a video message, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ director Vishal Chaturvedi said students must be having a “genuine reason” for protesting, even as he pointed at reports of VC being manhandled and his cabin vandalised. “While students can be a part of activism, activism is not the sole purpose of filmmaking. A wise person once said you should either decide you are an activist or a filmmaker. A filmmaker can practise activism through their art… If you want to do activism, there are different kinds of schools and colleges for that… The admin and students must sit together and find and amicable solution,” he said.SRFTI registrar Deepak Kumar said on Tuesday: “All concerns are being dealt with appropriately. But six-seven students appear intent on keeping the issue alive, to further their vested interests… they are obstructing meaningful dialogue…”
