Kolkata: Abheri Sen, daughter of arrested former state minister Indranil Sen, appeared at Lalbazar on Thursday for questioning in the multi-crore Durga Puja pass scam after skipping an earlier summons citing ill health.The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is probing alleged fund transfers from Mass Art, under investigation for collecting crores through commercial Durga Puja preview show passes, to two firms managed by Abheri. Her mother, Madhuchhanda Sen was also questioned as investigators sought to establish the family’s role and trace financial transactions.Meanwhile, Bankshall Court remanded co-accused Dhruvajyoti Basu, alias Shubho, chief organiser of Tala Prottoy and secretary of Mass Art to police custody till Nov 13 after prolonged arguments over his arrest.While the defence claimed Basu had surrendered, the complainant’s lawyer described him as the “kingpin” who commercialised Durga Puja. The prosecution opposed bail, alleging forged use of UNESCO’s logo to raise funds.
