Kolkata: Cloud pushed up by moisture injected by the Bay of Bengal triggered light rain in the city on Wednesday. Met officials said there is a strong westerly wind as a fall out of the cyclone Murasu.“There is low or mid-level cloud developing over the city’s sky. This kind of cloud is not capable of pulling off heavy rain. We expect the sky to be partly cloudy on Thursday but possibility of rain is very slim. The sky will become sunny Friday onwards,” said HR Biswas, head at RMC, Kolkata. On Wednesday, Alipore Met office recorded 3.2 mm of rain. The cloudy sky and the light rain pushed the maximum temperature to 28.6˚C, 2.5 notches below normal.“We can expect sunny weather on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But from Monday onwards there possibility of light rain in parts of some coastal districts,” added Biswas.
